The Tennessee Museum of Aviation and the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame in Sevierville are must-see experiences for anyone who is a fan of aviation, from seasoned pilots to those who just like to keep their heads in the clouds. As the state's official repository and archive of aviation history and the official aviation hall of fame, respectively, these Sevierville attractions offer educational fun for all ages.

With a massive, brightly lit, climate-controlled hangar full of vintage planes, the Tennessee Museum of Aviation is a great place to visit, no matter the weather or the season. And if the skies are clear, you may even see history come to life as the warbird aircraft take flight from the airport's runway, right outside the museum's hangar door.

Inside the museum's main gallery is a series of professionally designed displays that tell the story of flight. Authentic memorabilia including photos, scale models and aircraft paraphernalia help bring the history of aviation to life.

The displays are divided into different themes, including Early Flight, the Home Front and sections devoted to each major war since the turn of the 20th century. An array of military flight suits and an area detailing Tennessee's involvement in aviation progress are given their own display cases, and a timeline of national, military and Tennessee aviation milestones consumes 52 feet of the museum's eastern wall.
