Set Sail For Smoky Mountain Seafood

Usually, we only think about seafood when we travel to the beach, but if you're headed to the Great Smoky Mountains, here's a heads-up that you're in for some great ocean flavors as well-even if you are hundreds of miles from the nearest shoreline. Our Smoky Mountain vacation guide would like to suggest a couple of fun restaurants you might want to put on your short list:

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. - Located in downtown Gatlinburg, this restaurant knows how to prepare shrimp almost as many ways as Bubba Blue did in the movie Forrest Gump. But it's not just shrimp ye'll be finding, mateys. You'll enjoy everything from the crab-stuffed mushrooms to the po' boy sandwich to lobster, crab legs and mahi mahi. The restaurant's atmosphere is just as much fun thanks to a ton of Forrest Gump movie memorabilia.

Joe's Crab Shack – This fairly new eatery on the Parkway in Sevierville also knows how to satisfy those seafood cravings. Start with a bucket of peel-and-eat shrimp, reel in some stuffed snapper or take on a big platter full of coconut shrimp and grilled mahi in mango pico. The menu also features coastal steampots, buckets of crab, sandwiches, steaks and more.
