Last week, we offered an overview of where the best shopping could be found in Gatlinburg. This week, we’ll take you on a whirlwind tour of Pigeon Forge shopping opportunities-or shoppertunities as they’re sometimes called around here.
• Outlet Malls - Pigeon Forge has several major outlet centers including Pigeon River Crossings (formerly Belz Factory Outlet World), Pigeon Forge Factory Outlet Mall and the Z Buda Outlet Mall. (Note that those last two both have red roofs and are adjacent to each other. They’re practically indistinguishable.) These outlet malls offer hundreds of stores carrying all types of name-brand merchandise at discounts of up to 70 percent off retail.
Pigeon River Crossings is the only outlet mall in the Smokies located in a self-contained, indoor setting. However, several of its annex buildings across the street are like the other outlet malls in that the shops are all accessible from the outside.
• Souvenir & Specialty Shops - The Parkway in Pigeon Forge is lined with dozens of stores where you can find traditional tourist souvenirs to commemorate your visit to the Smokies. Some specialty stores, like Pigeon River Pottery, are devoted to arts and crafts and unique hand-made goods.
• Attractions & Theaters - Popular attractions like WonderWorks, the Titanic Museum Attraction and even Pigeon Forge’s many music theaters all have gift shops where you can find cool themed merchandise.
