New Water Park Attractions

It won't be long until the days will be warm enough for you to slip on a bathing suit and hit your favorite water park in the Smokies. Visitors to the area have two main choices when it comes to water park fun-Dollywood's Splash Country and Wilderness At The Smokies Resort. And whether you've ever been to either location or not, both have new activities to offer their guests for 2013.

Dollywood's Splash Country will be sliding into summer with Tennessee's first water coaster, called RiverRush. This next-generation coaster takes passengers on a course that is much like a roller coaster-full of sharp turns and dips-except it's all done on water. Dark tunnels and unexpected splashes will make RiverRush a great addition to Splash Country's full lineup of outdoor water fun and adventure.

At Wilderness At The Smokies, their outdoor Cyclone Racer is now open. It's a four-lane, high-speed waterslide that takes riders from 50 feet above ground to the bottom of the course in just seconds. You might also try the Wild Vortex, a dizzying ride that includes a 39-foot free-fall drop, speeds of up to 40 miles per hour and up to 2.5 Gs in less than two seconds. The resort offers an indoor water park as well, for year-round water fun.

The facilities at Wilderness At The Smokies are for resort guests only, but if you decide to give Dollywood a try, check out our selection of Gatlinburg cabins, Pigeon Forge condos and Wears Valley cabin rentals.
